Find a freelance SEO expert worth hiring
Where clients actually find good freelance SEO experts, the checks that separate senior from junior, and a direct option if you want to skip the search.
Where to find a freelance SEO expert
Searching for a freelance SEO expert usually means sifting through hundreds of profiles that all claim the same skills. The channel you search in shapes who you find, so pick it on purpose.
Below are the places clients use, with the trade-off of each. If you would rather talk to a senior SEO expert straight away, you can contact me directly and skip the shortlist.
Where good freelance SEO experts come from
- Referrals — the best source when someone you trust has hired a SEO expert recently. Ask what went wrong, not just what went right.
- Freelance marketplaces — Upwork and similar sites give volume and payment protection, but profiles are hard to compare. Filter on long-term client history.
- Vetted networks — curated platforms pre-screen talent and charge a premium for it.
- Portfolios and personal sites — a SEO expert with their own site and case studies is easier to judge and usually more established.
- Ask for Search Console evidence — clicks and impressions over time beat rank-tracker screenshots.
- Red flags — no live work to show, a price quoted before any questions, or pressure to pay everything upfront.
What I take on as your SEO expert
- SEO audits — a ranked fix list, not a 90-page PDF.
- Technical fixes — crawl, index, speed and schema problems solved in code.
- Keyword plans — pages mapped to what buyers actually search.
- Content briefs — outlines writers can turn into ranking pages.
- AI search — visibility in AI answers as well as Google.
- Reporting — Search Console and GA4 set up so you see progress.
