Hire Thinkific Expert — your academy, your brand

Thinkific is the course platform for brands that refuse to look rented: deep white-labeling, no transaction fees on paid plans, and the infrastructure for academies that scale — including B2B training portals with group management. It sits between Teachable's simplicity and Kajabi's all-in-one ambition, winning where brand control and scale economics matter.

I'm Omer Muneer Qazi, a Dubai-based Fractional CTO & Solutions Architect with 15+ years of experience and 100+ projects delivered across 6 countries. For pure course-selling simplicity, hire a teachable expert; when the academy must feel like *your* institution and scale like one, Thinkific is the platform I build on.

A structured engagement with no surprises — you’ll always know what’s happening and what’s next.

Why Omer

Why hire a Thinkific expert through a Fractional CTO

Thinkific academies fail when they are course collections wearing a logo — no catalog logic, no B2B motion, no completion engineering. I build the institution: catalog architecture, corporate sales enablement, and student experience designed around the metrics that compound.

The zero-transaction-fee economics change the math at scale, and I model it explicitly. To scope your academy, contact me with your courses and whether B2B is in the picture.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Thinkific vs Teachable — which is better?

Thinkific: stronger white-label, no transaction fees, better B2B features. Teachable: simpler checkout, faster to start. Choose Thinkific when brand control and scale economics matter; Teachable when you want the fastest path to first sale.

Can Thinkific handle corporate training clients?

Yes — group management, bulk enrollment, manager reporting, and SSO make it genuinely capable for B2B. This is Thinkific's clearest advantage over simpler platforms, and I build the B2B motion deliberately.

What about selling internationally?

Multi-currency pricing, international payment support, and localized student experiences are all workable. I configure the specifics for your target markets during setup.

Do we need the API?

For standard academies, no. For custom enrollments, advanced reporting, or deep CRM integration, the API is the unlock — I scope its use honestly rather than by default.

How long does a Thinkific academy take?

Single-brand academies ship in three to six weeks; multi-course institutions with B2B features and integrations run six to twelve weeks.

How I build

What hiring a Thinkific expert actually changes inside the build

When you hire a Thinkific expert, most of the value is in decisions made in the first week, long before anything is styled. I start by mapping how money and enrolment actually flow: whether you sell through TCommerce (Thinkific Payments) or bring your own Stripe gateway, how coupons and order bumps attach to products, and whether a learner is buying a single course, a bundle, a membership, or a seat in a group. Getting this product and pricing topology right is what separates an academy that scales from one you quietly rebuild in a year. I document it as a single source of truth so your team and I are never guessing what a 'product' means.

Thinkific gives you a section-based Site Builder and a fixed set of themes, which is deliberately not Shopify-style Liquid. The craft is knowing exactly where it ends and custom code begins. I push the native builder as far as it goes, then drop in targeted HTML, CSS and JavaScript through code blocks and the site-wide head and footer snippets for the things it cannot do: conditional pricing displays, custom learner dashboards, progress nudges, GTM and server-side event tracking, and conversion elements on sales pages. I keep that code isolated and commented so a future admin, or Thinkific's own updates, do not silently break it. 'Good' here means the custom layer is small, documented, and removable.

The integration and data layer is where I spend most senior time, and where DIY builds usually crack. I wire enrolment, orders and completion into your CRM and email platform using Thinkific's REST API and webhooks (order.created, enrollment.created, lesson and course completion) rather than brittle Zapier chains that fail silently at volume. For B2B and partner enrolment I use the API to provision seats programmatically instead of manual bulk-enrol. I respect rate limits, build idempotent handlers so a replayed webhook does not double-charge or double-enrol, and log everything so when a sync breaks you can see why. This is the difference between automation you trust and automation you babysit.

The mistakes I fix most are consistent. Drip schedules set 'by date' when they should be relative to enrolment, so every late joiner sees a half-empty course. Certificates and prerequisites configured in the wrong order, breaking completion logic. People expecting SCORM to just work when Thinkific does not support it natively, so I design a workable path instead of promising one. SEO destroyed during migration because old course URLs were never redirected. And analytics that count pageviews but not completions or revenue per cohort. I treat completion rate, not enrolment, as the real metric, because on a no-transaction-fee platform your margin compounds from learners who finish, renew and refer.

Questions buyers ask

What does it cost to hire you for a Thinkific project?

I work two ways. Fixed-scope builds and migrations are quoted as a project after a short discovery call, so you know the number before we start. Ongoing work, integrations and optimisation run on a monthly retainer. I am a senior solo consultant, not an agency reselling junior hours, so you pay for the decisions and the build, not account management. If your budget is modest, I will tell you honestly whether you need to hire a Thinkific expert at all or can self-serve with a few hours of guidance.

Can you migrate my courses from Teachable or Kajabi without losing students or SEO?

Yes, this is one of the most common reasons people hire a Thinkific expert. I import users and enrolments, re-upload and re-attach video, rebuild products, coupons and bundles, and crucially build a 301 redirect map so your old course and sales URLs pass their ranking to the new ones. Course progress does not always carry across platforms, so I am upfront about what transfers cleanly and what we recreate. We rehearse on a staging environment before cutover.

Thinkific vs Kajabi, which should I choose?

Kajabi is an all-in-one that bundles email, funnels, website and a CRM, which is convenient but pricier and more opinionated. Thinkific is a specialist course and academy platform with stronger white-labelling, no transaction fees on paid plans, and better B2B group features, but it expects you to bring your own email and marketing stack. If courses are the core of your business and you already have, or want to choose, your own tools, Thinkific usually wins on control and long-run cost.

Can you customise beyond the built-in Site Builder with real code?

Yes. Thinkific is not fully Liquid-templated like Shopify, but it does allow custom HTML, CSS and JavaScript through code blocks and site-wide head and footer snippets. I use that to build custom dashboards, conditional pricing, bespoke sales pages and precise analytics tracking. The discipline is keeping custom code small, isolated and documented so platform updates do not break it and your team can still manage the site without me.

I already have an academy, can you audit and fix it rather than rebuild?

Often that is the better value. Plenty of people hire a Thinkific expert expecting a rebuild and leave with a fixed version of what they had. I review your product and pricing structure, drip and completion logic, integrations, tracking and theme code, then give you a prioritised list of what is costing you revenue or completions. Many issues, like misconfigured drip schedules or broken certificate logic, are quick wins once correctly diagnosed.

Does Thinkific handle VAT and international tax, or do I need something extra?

TCommerce, Thinkific's native payments, can calculate and collect sales tax and VAT at checkout, which removes a lot of manual work for international sellers. If you run your own Stripe gateway instead, tax handling becomes your responsibility and I will usually recommend Stripe Tax or a dedicated tool. During setup I configure multi-currency pricing and the right tax approach for where your buyers actually are, so you are compliant without over-engineering it.
