Power BI or Tableau — which should we choose?
In a Microsoft 365 shop, Power BI usually wins on cost and integration. For pixel-perfect visuals with Tableau Server already in place, Tableau holds its ground. I build in both and recommend based on your stack.
Why do our reports show different numbers?
Almost always conflicting DAX or divergent data models — two reports computing the same KPI differently. I consolidate on one certified dataset with documented measures, so every report reconciles by construction.
Can you fix our slow reports?
Usually yes — the culprits are predictable: unfiltered fact tables, bidirectional relationships, and DAX that iterates row by row. I profile the model, fix the structure, and set up incremental refresh where volume demands it.
How does row-level security work?
DAX filters on roles restrict each user to their slice — their region, team, or accounts. I implement the roles, test them as individual users, and document the logic so audits are straightforward.
